Why Adoption Will Always Be Close to My Heart?
Hi, I’m Lucy — the founder of Chic Chic Custom.
Before CCC ever existed, before “Personalised about Fluffy Friends” became our slogan, there was a small, life-changing moment back in 2016.
That was the year I adopted my very first cat from the RSPCA in the UK.
My First Adoption in 2016

In 2016, I walked into an RSPCA adoption centre without fully realising that I was about to meet someone who would change my life forever.
As I was looking around, he suddenly walked toward me.
Out of all the people in the room, he came straight to me. He started meowing — loudly and insistently — as if he had something very important to say. Then he gently rubbed his head against my fingers through the bars.
Again and again.
In that moment, I didn’t feel like I was choosing a cat.
It felt like he was choosing me.
That soft but determined “meow,” that tiny head bump — it completely melted my heart. I knew I couldn’t leave without him.
Bringing him home was the beginning of everything.
Growing Our Little Family

Over the years, I returned to the same RSPCA centre and adopted two more male cats. Each of them has a completely different personality. Together, they shaped my daily life, my routines, and my understanding of unconditional love.
But at the end of 2025, my second cat left me forever.
There are moments in life that quietly break you.
Losing him was one of them.
I realised that when a pet leaves, they don’t just leave an empty bed, or an empty corner of the sofa.
They leave an empty space in your heart.
Even now, I sometimes feel that space — as if a small part of my heart still belongs to him.
When Love Inspires More Love
Something beautiful happened along the way.
After seeing how much joy my adopted cats brought into my life, one of my close friends decided to adopt as well — and she adopted two cats of her own.
Adoption creates a ripple effect.
One home becomes two.
Two become more.
And more lives are changed.
Why “Adopt, Don’t Shop” Matters to Me

There are so many animals in shelters waiting quietly for someone to see them.
When we adopt:
-
We give a second chance to a life that may have been overlooked.
-
We support responsible rescue organisations like the RSPCA.
-
And we gain a companion whose love is honest and unconditional.
Adoption isn’t about saving them.
It’s about finding each other.
How This Connects to CCC

Chic Chic Custom was born from my love for my own fluffy boys — and from understanding how deep that bond truly goes.
After losing my second cat, I understood something even more clearly:
Love for our pets does not end when their lives do.
It stays with us.
Many of our customers come to us during emotional moments — celebrating a beloved companion, or remembering one who has passed.
Some of the feedback we receive has moved me to tears.
Customers share stories about their adopted pets. About how a small personalised piece helps them feel close again. About how holding something custom-made makes the memory feel tangible.
Every time I read those messages, I am reminded that what we create is not just a product.
It is love, preserved.
At CCC, our care is genuine. Our understanding is personal. Because we have lived it too.
Our slogan, Personalised about Fluffy Friends, is not marketing language.
It is a reflection of real bonds, real grief, real gratitude — and real love.
If you are thinking about bringing a pet into your life, I gently encourage you to visit a rescue centre first.
And if you have loved and lost, please know:
You are not alone.
With love,
Lucy
